Ingredients

 
Quantity Measure Ingredients Description:
400 Grams Gosalen (Ridge Gourd)      Scrape the ridges and clean
1 Teaspoon        Chilly Powder, Red Mix the pieces with
1 Pinch Turmeric Powder Mix the pieces with
A Little Salt to taste
1/2 Teacup Flour, Gram /Chana Ata Make a thick batter
1 Teacup Cooking Oil For frying

Method

Scrape the ridges and clean the gosalem.   Cut in round slices.  Wash the slices and drain the water and dab dry.  Mix the pieces with chilly  powder, turmeric powder, and salt to taste and keep aside.

Make a thick batter of gram flour and add a little salt for taste.

In a deep fry pan, put the cooking oil and heat it.   Then dip the gosalem pieces in the batter, and drop in the hot oil and fry.   When done, remove them with a perforated ladle, and remove all the oil, and place them on a wicker basket lined with paper towels.
