What is Truth ?

What is Truth ?   You might be familiar with this question.   It was asked by a Roman Proconsul, of a convict two thousand years ago, and he gave him an apt answer.

Today, we are passing through a time, when we need to ask ourselves the same question, when allegations are bandied right  and left, and some may affect our own lives.   Each one of us, has a mechanism in our brains, which discerns truth, and it is called "Common Sense", and as it happens, it gets muddled by information that pours into our rooms from sources, which used to be impeccable, and trustworthy.   In a competitive world of today, this may no longer be true, as people use their money power or their muscle power to get things done and get the desired effects.   Public Relations is an art developed over ages.   Ambassordors used to be appointed by Kings, to carry their point of view to their friends and foes in other countries, and Ever since the first world war when monarchies were hunted away and replaced by so called "democracies", this art has been perfected, and today, we have so many kinds of ambassadors, and you might have heard a recent coinage from the words factory, called "brand ambassadors" and all this is meant to reach out to gullible minds, to gain an entry into their minds and purses, so that it their cash can be sphoned off for the benefit of companies that employ these public relations gimmicks.

Now a days, listening to news broadcasts, has been such a problem, that one finds it hard to diciper their meaning and it is a fashion to bandy allegations around, to fetch higher TRP ratings.    Gullible listeners then spread the rumours further to their friends and relatives, and a climate of confusion prevails, and one stops eating what you used to eat, and go on a peculiar diet.

It is better to go back to the ways our grand mothers used to teach.   Cook your own food and from ingredients which you can grow in your own verandah.    Internet, which is another slogan we often hear, but suddenly when the electricity gets cut off, as it happens often in our beloved Goa, one wonders what "devlupment" we are talking about.  Find your answers, from the myriard of articles that are written on subjects around which misinformation is being spread these days.   There is one kind, which gullible believers have to spread to all and sundry, and another side to mock it.   In the bargain, truth can suffer.   Even if you utter it, a day may come, like in the Wolf's story, one will fail to believe it.

The only way out of this is to use your own "COMMON SENSE".
