Vagolem (Kite Fish) in Mustard masala

Quantity Measure Ingredients Description:
1, 1/2 Kilogram Vagolem - Kite Fish Cut and clean the fish
1/2 Nos. Coconuts - fresh. Grind and extract juice
2 Tablespoon Mustard Seed (Sarson      ) Grind
2 Teaspoon Turmeric Powder Grind
5 Medium Onions Cut into slices
6 Medium Chillies Green Cut into slices
1 Inch Ginger (Adhrak) Cut into slices
3 Tablespoon Cooking Oil To fry
6 Flakes/Cloves      Garlic (Lason, Losun) siced
2 Tablespoon Vinegar For taste
  As Required Salt tuo taste


Cut and clean the fish.   Grind coconut and extract one cup of thick juice.    Grind mustard and turmeric fine.      

Cut into slices, onions, ginger, garlic and green chillies.

Heat cooking oil and brown the sliced onions and the minced masala.    Add the ground masala and fry well till the masala odor goes.   Then add the coconut juice and keep on stirring.  Add vinegar and salt to taste.   After boiling well add the fish and cook on brisk fire, shaking the vessel once or twice.   Do not allow to curdle.

Shark, pompret,   gol fish etc. may be cooked this way.
