Quantity Measure Ingredients Description:
12 Large Prawns Clean and wash the prawns
5 Nos. Chillies Red Dry Grind Masala with salt
0.5 Inch Turmeric/Haldi Grind Masala with salt
4 Flakes/Cloves Garlic (Lason, Losun) Grind Masala with salt
0 Little Salt Grind Masala with salt
0.5 Kilogram Rice, fine grain. (Jirasal or Delhi) Pick and wash the rice and strain.
100 Grams Ghee Heat and fry rice


Clean and wash the prawns, grind the masala with a little salt, mix the prawns in the masala, keep aside for half hour and then fry them in hot ghee.

Pick and wash the rice and strain.   Heat the ghee in a pot and fry the rice till slightly brown, then add masala water, in which the stone was washed, and additional water if required, till it is 2 fingers above the rice.  Stir and cook.  When nearly cooked, add the prawns and stir.   Slow the fire underneath, and keep live coals in the lid.   Alternatively, you can place the dish in the microwave oven, till rice is cooked and dry.   It may be garnished with bits of boiled eggs and fried potato chips.
