Prawns Fried in Masala

Quantity Measure Ingredients Description
1/2 Kilogram Prawns Shelled Prawns
2 Large Potatoes Pared and cubed and fried
7-8 Large Chillies Kashmir Masala Ingredients:
5-6 Flakes/Cloves Garlic (Lason, Losun) Masala Ingredients:
1/4 Inch Ginger (Adhrak) Masala Ingredients:
1 Teaspoon Jeera (Cumin Seeds) Masala Ingredients:
1 Teaspoon Pepper Powder Masala Ingredients:
1 Teaspoon Turmeric Powder Masala Ingredients:
1 Ball Tamarind Masala Ingredients:
1/2 Inch Ginger (Adhrak) Minced Masala:
4 Flakes/Cloves Garlic (Lason, Losun) Minced Masala:
2 Medium Onions Minced Masala:
2 Medium Chillies Green Minced Masala:
1 Tablespoon Coriander Leaves (Kothmeer) Washed, and dreied - Garnish
  As Required Sugar, Table Garnish
  As Required Salt For taste
  As Required Vinegar If needed, as tamarind has been used.


Grind Masala: with  the ingredients marked as Masala ingredients.  Keep aside.after grinding.

Pare the potatoes, and cut them in cubes,  and fry them in oil.   Remove them from  oil, and keep aside.

In the oil used to fry potaoes, fry the ingredients kept for "Minced Masala".     Saute till brown.   Add  the  shelled prawns. And continue frying on low flame.   Add the ground masala, and continue to  fry till all the masala has been absorbed  by the prawns.   Then add a little sugar  and mix it in the masala again.  Allow the  prawns to blend with the masala and let it  cook. Add salt as per taste. Add a little  vinegar to taste. Just when the dish is done  add the fried potatoes and garnish it with  washed and dried, coriander leaves.
