Ingredients

A Pinch Asafetida (Hing)  
4-5 Medium Chillies Green  
1 Tablespoon Cooking Oil  
1 Bunch Coriander Leaves (Kothmeer) washed and chopped.
1-2 Teaspoon Garam-Masala or(928) Maharashtrian goda masala.
1 Teaspoon Jeera/Cumin Seeds or mustard seeds
4 Medium Potatoes  
  As Required Salt to taste
  As Required Sugar to taste
2 Medium Tomatoes  
1 Teaspoon Turmeric Powder  

 

 

Method

1. Boil potatoes and tomatoes. Chop potatoes into 1" dice. Chop tomatoes and green chilies. Keep aside.

3. Heat oil in a pan. Add mustard seeds, asafetida and turmeric powder. Add chopped tomatoes. Fry for some time.

4. Add potatoes and 1 cup water. Stir and bring it to a boil.

5. Remove the lid. Add masala, salt, sugar and mix well.

6. Garnish with coriander leaves and serve hot with chapati or rice.

Variation: Add chopped ginger and garlic for different taste.
