Ingredients

Quantity Measure Ingredients Description:
1/2 Teacup Rice, Boiled (ukda chawal) Soak
1/2 Teacup Dhal, Urid (white) Soak
1/2 Teacup Rice, Raw Soak
4 Tablespoon Coconut scraped (fresh) Grind with rice
1 Tablespoon Tamarind Pulp Soak tamarind in water and extrat juice
1/2 Teaspoon Jeera (Cumin Seeds) Grind with rice
1/4 Teaspoon Pepper Powder Grind with rice
1/2 Teaspoon Salt to taste. Grind with rice
8-10 Small Chillies Green Cut in bits. Grind with rice

Method

Soak the rice and dal together over night and grind together with all of the other ingredients to make a thick Dosa batter, using water as needed.

Cover and let ferment in a warm place for 5-6 hrs. The batter should be ready, make the dosas on a hot tawa & serve with your favorite chutneys.
