Salted Beef Curry

Half Kilogram Beef Salted and preserved. See Salted Beef
8 Nos Chillies Red Dry Broil and Grind
Half Teaspoon Jeera/Cumin Seeds Broil and Grind
1 Tablespoon Coriander/Dhania Broil and Grind
1 Medium Onion Slice, Broil and Grind
3 Flakes/Cloves Garlic Broil and Grind
Half Inch Turmeric/Haldi Broil and Grind
6 Nos Pepper Corns Broil and Grind
Half Teaspoon Mustard Seed Broil and Grind
1 Ball Tamarind Grind
Half Nos Coconut Scrape, Broil and Grind
2 Tablespoon Ghee For tempering
1 Medium Onion Slice and fry in Ghee
200 Grams Potatoes Boil, Peel and cut in four and add.
A Little Salt According to taste.

Method

Soak the salted beef for one hour in water, then wash and cut in pieces. and boil in two cups of water for about one hour. Add salt to taste.   Broil separately on a skillet each masala, scraped coconut and sliced onion, except tamarind.  Grind all masala and tamarind to a fine paste.

Add the masala and its water to the cooked meat and boil.  

For tempering, heat the ghee and fry half onion sliced, pour the cooked meat, its gravy and if necessary additional boiled water, to prepare curry to required consistency.   Add salt to taste if needed and simmer for fifteen minutes.    Add boiled potatoes peeled and cut.

:oops: I think I have understood after little reflection... We don't use this type of preserved in salt beef in France and foolishly I have just put frozen beef in water for one hour!!! Anyway I will continue the recipe without boiling the meat for one hour as advocated here and hope it will taste all right...

Hello,
I am french, love indian cooking and was very happy to find your recipes. What is "salted beef"? It is written "Half Kilogram Beef Salted and preserved. See 810" but I am not abble to find "810". Does it mean the beef is preserved in salt before or that one should add salt to it before?
