Home Food for Thought Poems Drinking from my saucer !

Drinking from my saucer !

E-mail Print PDF
Monsoon downpours...and there is a mixed  feeling of blessing and inconvenience. Since I am mostly indoors the blessings dominate. And even if I have to go out I don't generally complain the inconveniences. One can always return home and wash the mud splashes away and dry out the wetness.

Some things happen to us in life that we might not be quite aware of . Despite the rough rumble ragged patches we struggle through there are blessings we may not notice; blessings that quietly but surely help us along through it all...

When we do notice these blessings then life brightens up considerably and we can even spark up the lives of those around us .
Shared blessings ... and so much uplifting peace and joy because of that.

Someone sent  me this poem. It so well describes  my Pentecost Sunday thoughts and feelings. And the kind of attitude that I need to have to carry me through life.

Drinking from my saucer !

saucer

I've been through corridors of pain
I'm so much better now
They're just a bunch of memories
 I'm happier somehow
And as I go along life's way,
I reap more than I sowed.
I'm drinking from my saucer,
'Cause my cup has overflowed

There's so much more I want to do
sometimes the going's tough
But I've got caring  all around
that makes me rich enough.
I thank God for His  blessings
and the mercies He's bestowed.
I'm drinking from my saucer,
'Cause my cup has overflowed.

Of course at times some things go wrong,
My faith wears somewhat thin.
But soon enough the dark clouds break
the sun peeps through again.
So LORD, please help me not to gripe
about my uphill road.
I'm drinking from my saucer,
'Cause my cup has overflowed.

GOD gives me strength and courage,
When ways grow steep and rough.
I need not other blessings,
His grace, for me enough!
May I never be too busy,
to help others bear their loads..
I'll keep drinking from my saucer,
'Cause my cup has overflowed.

All well with me  and life goes on...

More monsoon blessings and overflowing cups to you.... and more sharings as well!

Take care. Love to all of the family, Terence
