Method
1) Mix flour, sugar and salt together.
2) Heat 1/2 cup ghee. And add it to the flour. Make a dough using some warm milk / water.
3) Keep the dough aside and cover with a wet cloth. After 2 hours, remove the cloth. Knead the dough again.
4) Now heat some ghee in a pan. Make round balls of the dough. Roll out these balls to make thin circular disc of 5 inch .diameter.
5) Cut this disc into small diamond shaped pieces. Fry the pieces till the color changes to golden brown.
Crisp shankarpale are ready.
Tip:
Alternate method: 1 cup milk + 1 1/4 cups sugar + 1 cup ghee / oil + 1/2 tsp salt. Mix together and let boil. When bubbles rise on top, remove from the fire. Add as much flour / wheat flour as required to form a soft dough. Then follow the step 3.
