This is for male and female singers. Use the do re mi name set for singing, as it builds an association between the name and its sound, irrespective of the pitch.

In the second book, I introduce, crochets, minims and semibreves.

Note how the note names correspond to the lines and spaces on the stave. Do, mi, sol are always ascending in thirds, or if one appears on a line, the others too will come on lines. In the same way alternate names will appear either on spaces or lines. Thus re, fa and la come on spaces. This observation will help you in the reading of the stave, or staff.
